Nice to Meet You!

From as far back as I can remember I studied magazines and television sets with the intensity of a text book and mentally redecorated every room I went into.

With almost a decade of experience styling for photography, my style emphasizes clean lines and the use of vintage finds.

Contact me for custom surfaces, styling of props, food, florals, wardrobe, and interiors for photography or film.

KEYS TO A PERFECT GUEST ROOM

Got guests visiting you for the holidays? Getting your home ready can feel stressful, but it doesn't have to! If you prep your space little by little, you won't be overwhelmed when the in-laws arrive.

Layers.

An extra blanket, no matter the season! Don’t force guests to wake you up in the middle of the night because they are freezing. And a Ceiling Fan too. People get hot. Not me, But I hear other people do.

Art.
The art and photos you choose to display in your home are the pieces that tell the story of you. Guests love to feel surrounded by your energy and memories when they're visiting.

Drinking Water.
Place a carafe and glasses next to the bed.
Coasters are a good idea too. One of the worst things I can imagine is waking up parched in the middle of the night in a strange house and stumbling to the kitchen in the dark to try to get a glass of water. Some Ibuprofen is a good idea if you’re of the parting crowd.

A (Silent) Clock.
These Big Ben Clocks from L.L. Bean are completely silent. No ticking to keep your guests up all night.

A Spare Set of House Keys.
Put them on a large key chain so that they are easy to find and hard to lose.

Tech Space.
Write down the Wi-Fi Password. —It is the 21st century. And have an easy place to charge devices. Maybe an extra charger, if you’re really on top of things!

(Light) Reading Material.
Go for something light hearted or a collection of short stories. I love Davis Sedaris, “Holidays on Ice” is a great one for Christmas. You can pick up any of his books at any page.

Empty Hangers.
Most visitors will pack a couple of nice items of
clothing. Help them get those pieces out of their
luggage as soon as possible.

Green Things.
Nothing says “we’re glad you’re here” like fresh flowers or plants. Several bunches of flowers can get “pricey” so consider cuttings from your yard or a simple snake plant. They’re almost impossible to kill —even for a black thumb like me.

THANK YOU!
